The Starboard Futura 120 is quick and easy to ride, even in strong winds and choppy conditions. And it makes every gybe a success.

Perfect stability in the straps and the best connection to the board are among the lasting impressions, even after long runs with the Starboard Futura. The short board with its wide nose and comparatively narrow tail doesn't get up to speed quite as easily in light winds as the fastest spurters. However, a little drop and active pumping help are effective in actively accelerating the board - and with plenty of pressure in the sail, it catches up with the fastest boards. The hull with the strong V under the mast track is soft and damped even in rough choppy waves, the board flies particularly stable over the water and overall it feels very compact underfoot.

Control is excellent at all times and you can tackle jibes in a relaxed manner - even in difficult conditions. The board glides into classic power jibes with just a little foot pressure and stays on track very stably, even if smaller or larger waves roll through the chosen path. Even if the jibing technique is not quite perfect, the board is forgiving. This makes the Futura the most comfortable board for speed bolting; as a pure light wind glider, the board is not among the top performers, at least in this group.

Surf summary of the Starboard Futura 120:

Very easy to surf fast board with maximum comfort and control in strong winds and choppy waves.
