The Starboard Phantom is an old favourite in the raceboard scene with countless regatta successes. The manufacturer has redesigned the board for the 2026 season, focusing on the switch from conventional fibreglass materials to carbon constructions. This change in material brings decisive advantages: The 3.77 metre long boards will be up to 700 grams lighter, while the structural rigidity will increase at the same time. For riders, this means an immediately noticeable increase in responsiveness on the water, the manufacturer promises.
Another new feature of the Starboard Phantom is the newly developed 84 cm long daggerboard made of full carbon fibre. This was designed by Martin Fischer, who also designs foils for regatta yachts, among other things. The carbon daggerboard can be purchased as a separate option or integrated directly.
The new edition also retains the familiar features of the Phantom: The "bat wings" at the tail, which increase the planing surface, and the bevelled mast track. The board is available in two sizes, which are identical in length, width and underwater hull. However, the "L" version is thicker and should offer more power, while the thinner "normal version" should offer more agile handling and better acceleration.
