Surf recommendation: For technically experienced surfers who like to be on the move early with smaller fins. Can also be easily made fast by non-super-heavyweight riders. Tip for top performance and a particularly sporty, fast ride in light winds.

On land: Despite full rails, the standing area is ergonomically comfortable, the "trough" in the deck shape only starts from the centre of the mast track. The stern is adorned with small "wingers" and ends in a rather pointed pintail.

On the water: The first test ride with a 49er fin was fast, but also a bit of a hussar ride. With a smaller fin (45 Select and 46.5 Pfaffi fins), the RRD, fuelled by the 8.5 race sail, then played all its trump cards. The board runs very freely and agilely, therefore requires less lift from the fin and can be made very fast when underpowered. In the new setup, the board was immediately among the best in all speed ratings and is also easy to control. It still feels very lively, but keeps the nose down and flies straight over the chop, and never stops downwind. This makes the RRD particularly suitable for riders who want to surf fast with good technique and can't just push a board with brute force. The jibe characteristics are a perfect match. Although the RRD requires good feeling because it remains very lively in the turn (with a slight tendency towards nervousness in choppy water), it allows all radii, glides through the turn with a lot of speed and then accelerates vehemently. This great acceleration is also a pleasure on the straights - another ingredient that makes every run on the RRD an extremely sporty but controlled experience.
