With a very stable and dampened planing position, the "Fast Forward" conveys the familiar, safe AHD feeling in the medium wind range, which should particularly appeal to intermediates. Hanging relaxed in the harness, the board glides comfortably and stably around all axes. Fast forward, on the other hand, is not the AHD's preferred gait: trimmed for speed with body tension, the front strap position no longer fits at all, the ankle is strongly overstretched when standing on the flat deck. The performance-oriented giant fin does not harmonise particularly well with the moderate standing position.
We recommend the board to heavy planing beginners who are looking for a light, voluminous board. According to our measurements, there are almost 160 litres under the bright yellow shell - a large part of which is also in the tail, which offers a lot of lift in the jibe and helps with gliding through rather wide turns. Tight power jibes, on the other hand, are hardly possible.
StrengthsVery stable, best glide, easy to drive. Low weight.
WeaknessesFront loop position only possible very far inwards. Narrow sliding necks.
