As a real easy glider, the Fun Ride impresses with its suitability for beginners who want to experience their first gliding experiences in the footstraps and harness as quickly as possible. The comparatively narrow and long board glides early and very harmoniously on the long, flat gliding surface (15 centimetres longer than the Magic Ride) without any technical finesse. Not with the same acceleration as its stable mate, but very harmonious and smooth: for enough time to settle into the footstraps and prepare for full glide.
In medium winds, the intermediate board can even keep up with some freeride boards and glides very easily, stably and without a tendency to turn, especially on a half-wind course - making it very controllable for intermediates. Stable half planing is also possible with the board, even the displacement ride is significantly faster than the dumping speed of short, wide freeride boards. The large deck pad is perfect for children and if you walk around the mast on the pad when turning, you immediately have an orientation for the correct placement of your feet. Even in strong winds, the Fun Ride accelerates well, albeit not with the super free feeling of short freeride specialists.
A very suitable intermediate and family board that accompanies you from the beginnings of trapeze and footstrap surfing through to the first power jibes and is also fun in planing winds.
Easy surfing, very versatile

Deputy Editor in Chief surf
Stephan Gölnitz comes from Bochum and had Holland as his home windsurfing territory for many years before moving to Munich in 1996 for the job of test editor at surf magazine. The materials engineering graduate worked as a surf instructor on the Ijsselmeer during his studies and competed for several seasons for the Essen sailing team in the Surfbundesliga and the Funboard Cup. He completed a traineeship at surf-Magazin in the test department and since then has actively accompanied almost all tests on the boom and for more than 10 years also as a photographer. Stephan has covered many thousands of test kilometers, mainly on Lake Garda and in Langebaan, but also in Egypt and Tobago. He gets his hands on over 100 new sails and boards every year as his company car. Privately, he prefers to surf with a foil on Lake Walchensee or “unfortunately far too rarely” in the waves. SUP is Stephan's second passion, which he pursued for several years at numerous SUP races. Today, he prefers to paddle on river tours with family or friends - even for several days.
