This is what a classic upwind board looks like: long enough for light winds, with an optional centre fin and covered with loop plugs like holes in Swiss cheese. The deck pad is skilfully cut and also covers the area where the front foot stands when planing. The strongly upturned bow moves freely over the waves, and an optional centre fin (included) makes it easier for beginners and intermediates to stay upwind in light winds. When the wind picks up, the Bullit is not one of the top gliders, but it slides off smoothly and does not require too much practice to planing due to its greater length.
Even the outer freeride positions of the straps are positioned in such a way that slipping in is easy. You tend to stand further inwards on the board, the surfing position is more upright. Nevertheless, the board can also be propelled quickly and, although it feels a little conservative in full planing with its 2.66 metre length, it is still fast and has a sporty feel. The Bullitt surfs up and down the waves rather than flying over them. And even power jibes are possible with comparatively low foot pressure and in fairly tight radii, even if the planing potential should of course not be compared with a light, pure freeride board.
The Bullitt is aimed at families, intermediates and, with restrictions, even lovers of classic, long freeride shapes.
