On landThe Hawk in LTD construction comes in a hammer weight (6.25 kilos), which according to Fanatic corresponds to the current state of the series. The board shows a lot of scoop in the deck shape, has a narrow tail and narrow bow. Loop positions are available for every requirement. The shape is a flat V with a fairly short planing surface.
On the waterThe Hawk 123 is a fast-paced fun board that hangs loosely on the foot, likes to jump and can be pushed into corners at full speed without much effort. The riding feel can be described as sporty to pithy. The shape conveys more of a feeling of speed than you will find in an objective comparison, where the newer, wider boards offer undeniable advantages. Compared to a Starboard, JP Super Sport or Tabou, the Fanatic is better suited to slightly smaller sails (up to around 7.2 square metres) and is less convincing as a performance machine, but as a large heating and jibing board that provides a fast and lively ride. Our tip for surfers for whom a sporty feeling is more important than comparing their performance with others.
