The Freerider 130s have a beefy appearance, a bear-like suit and are agile in action as they compete for the favour of buyers. With a slightly wider track (around three to four centimetres), the early gliders are safe enough in the water for lightweight intermediates and glide - powered by large sails - in a good three forces of wind. Light surfers can learn all planing manoeuvres in a relaxed manner, while sporty early gliders up to 80 kilos will find lively boards that can easily handle sails up to eight square metres. The Starboard Carve 135 established itself in the test as an over-glider, while Naish, Fanatic and G-Sailboards are recommended for sporty surfers. F2 and AHD presented themselves as genuine easy-surfing products - forgiving and therefore particularly recommended for intermediate surfers.
