JP-Australia Magic Ride: Extremely easy to jibe and comfortable strap positions for every requirement.

Like a good magician, the JP-Australia Magic Ride fulfils almost every wish: easy surfing, very good jibing characteristics and plenty of speed potential to boot!

Behind every magic is a simple trick. The art of great magicians is to keep it to themselves. Shaper Werner Gnigler has kept the secret behind the "magic ride" very well until now. And so the JP-Australia Magic Ride continues to confidently cover the widest range of use - from planing intermediates to dedicated freeriders. At 2.44 metres in length, the board pushes over the planing threshold particularly early and smoothly.

The balanced volume distribution provides maximum tipping stability and a great deal of safety when catching up with the sail, tacking and at top speed. Even in choppy water, the board planes particularly stable, hardly rocking around its longitudinal axis, and when crossing the waves, the bow tip moves up and down as sensitively as the seismograph in Middle Europe when a coconut falls from a palm tree in Tobago.

Comfortable stance, easy jibing

The numerous strap positions allow you to slip in quickly for every riding ability, making the transition to planing very easy. When speeding with straps mounted on the outside, your feet nestle against the ergonomically rounded rails, and even intermediates - with the straps further in - don't just stand flat on the deck. The finely structured pads are generously cut and provide good grip, the shape absorbs "bumps" with good control and damping - for optimum comfort. The new, thinner fin has a very low resistance and requires less effort with the back leg, but a little more sensitivity - when going upwind, for example, otherwise the tail can slip away briefly.

To compensate for this, the board spoils you with jibes that are more fluid, smooth and controlled than almost any other board. It tracks perfectly and requires only moderate foot pressure for moderately tight to quite wide jibes. Classic power jibes and duck jibes are not only extremely easy, but also very planing. But the board also masters tight turns with good grip, and in wide race jibes it sticks quite close to the tail, even for freerace specialists.

surf verdict on the JP-Australia Magic Ride 129

The JP-Australia Magic Ride is the prototype of a freeride board that grows with you from beginner to dedicated rider: easy to surf, fast, comfortable and extremely easy to control. It also has the best planing potential in the power jibe and is very easy to ride.
