A board without many shape details, with a harmonious outline and balanced volume distribution: the deck of the Severne Verso is clearly rounded at the back for a comfortable stance in the straps, while at the front it offers enough flat surface for catching up and tacking. This allows you to get into the straps quickly and confidently, also because the board planes smoothly on a half-wind course and because even the outside positions still pass for a moderate freeride setting.
The comparatively small fin produces only minimal drag, which ensures energy-saving surfing with the best top speed potential. The high-quality carbon fin needs to be loaded a little more sensitively, but remains spin-out-free at top speed and supports the excellent controllability. The outside positions are also geared towards a very comfortable stance, but the board does not want to be actively held free like a freeracer, instead it maintains its stable flight position close to the water as safely as a professional drone in 20 knots of wind.
The Verso planes a little flatter, well damped and therefore with the best comfort. Despite its comparatively narrow width, the Verso flies - very similar to the Super Ride 125 - freely across the water, even when fully planing, but is as stable as with training wheels. This ensures a balanced mix of sporty feeling and optimum controllability at the same time. The Verso can be propelled quickly or set to cosy autonomous surfing for a short nap on the boom.
Like a somewhat braver Super Ride, the Severne Verso is fast yet comfortable, offers a tad more stability when recovering and glides very variably yet controlled through a wide range of gybe radii. The Verso is reminiscent of a tamed Super Ride with even more riding comfort and an equally variable jibe repertoire. The board glides just as well through the jibes, is also easy to carve and can be turned a class tighter thanks to the narrow tail.
The Verso is the moderately sporty and significantly more comfortable freeride board compared to the Fox and appeals to a much larger target group - from planing beginners to dedicated freeriders or jibing junkies - and should fully fulfil their expectations.
