On land: Compared to the Funster, the JP Fun Ride doesn't have much to offer in terms of gimmicks apart from the (rather thin) pads under the straps. This makes for a low weight in this board class.
On the water: The JP Fun Ride is not only a particularly good-natured, easy-to-control freerider, but also impresses with its fluid gliding characteristics. The JP shape overcomes the digital glide threshold (glide on/off), which is typical for sporty freeride boards, quickly and smoothly as if with a finely graduated 7-speed automatic. This is particularly helpful for intermediates. Those who are already surfing safely in the loops will be happy about the good planing characteristics in the jibe - even if the board needs a lot of pressure due to its width. On the other hand, it doesn't react like a mimosa even with heavier surfers if you don't put the ideal amount of weight on it, but instead continues its turn undeterred. If you practise two or three extra hours on a centreboard after the beginner's course, you can then hop on this fast board without any major concerns. With a bit of practice, the large 52 mm fin pulls up well even without centreboard support. When planing, the board conveys a real freeride feeling and is also fun for slightly heavier riders in a light planing wind.
