On landThe deck of the SP 69 looks as flat as a table, the board is 2.50 metres long at the upper end of the range and still has plenty of volume to offer in front of the mast track. There is a clear V in the tail, which is crowned by a steep 42 race fin. The really clean silver painted board looks very classy.
On the waterThe JP Super Sport has already proven itself in comparison with the Slalomboards (surf 11-12/2008) and so it's no surprise that the board comes out on top in the freeride group in the performance comparison. It runs freely, but with a stable and flat planing angle, contact with choppy waves is minimised when powered up - the board simply flies over them. It remains very stable and is therefore easy to control even for non-pros. Fast power jibes are possible with the best planing potential and even in slower jibes with less wind the board turns well and remains stable. All in all, a very successful compromise between maximum performance and easy handling.
