CONCLUSION: A very successful compromise board that will be a lot of fun for intermediate riders with gliding experience, but also seems suitable for beginners and children (with an additional smaller fin at the back).

Starboard has a huge range of boards - unfortunately, the centreless counterpart "Rio" was not available for testing at short notice. However, the Go - with its unique centreboard concept - also showed solo what a particularly versatile board can look like.

On land: The Go is the only centreboard to be tested with a really large fin in the tail. The centreboard, which is inserted from below and screwed in from above, is also a novelty. We also liked the large deck carpet, but this is also available elsewhere.

On the water: The Go offers two advantages as a gliding learner board: The board slides effortlessly and evenly even with little pressure in the sail - and then glides extremely stably over the water even when the speed increases. This takes away the control worries of intermediates, while good surfers can make the board nice and fast with little effort. The feeling of speed is particularly impressive, the fin offers very good grip and you race across the lake like a big freerider. Not quite on the racing side like the Fanatic Shark, but particularly easy to control. Even with the straps mounted further forward, which are very suitable for gliding climbers, it is really fun to fall off in a gust and accelerate. Power jibes from fast planing also work well and, above all, the board glides safely and smoothly through the turn.
