On land:The Super Ride already stands out visually from the Magic Ride and Super Sport: the Diamond Tail, the wide nose and the straight outline with a fairly parallel edge already look familiar from the new Freestyle Wave. You have the choice between multiple strap options, in addition to a very sporty outside position, there is also a moderate and a 3-loop option with a single loop at the back of the deck. The pads are non-slip and well padded.
On the water:The design team did a good job of realising the brief to build a board that is sportier than the Magic Ride. The Super Ride sprints off powerfully with the first gust of wind and releases immediately. Light-footed and fast, the board whizzes across the water, a fun factor especially in light and medium winds. When fully powered up, however, the Super Ride with its very free planing position in the chop requires advanced riding skills. The board also makes experienced surfers happy in the jibe - those who carve with a lot of planing will be rewarded with plenty of grip and great planing potential. Those who surf passively and primarily want to survive jibes without crashing might be a little overwhelmed.
surf conclusion:The Super Ride is ideal for freeriders who have already mastered loop surfing and power jibes and who want to race across the water with camberless freeride or 2-cam freerace sails. Anyone who surfs with three loops and practices power jibes rather than being able to do them should still stick with the Magic Ride.
