Moderate waves and the Firewave is in its element: it planes superbly and conveys a successful mixture of free riding feeling and control, even in bad chop.

You can make a lot out of small waves with the RRD, it hits short hooks over the back foot and looks lively, quite radical and wonderfully easy to ride. When it's clean, you can also chase the board down bigger wave slopes, but at some point the shape - with its round outline and ample width - reaches its limits and then, under the feet of radical surfers, seems noticeably limited in terms of manoeuvrability and variability.

PLUS Easy, suitable for small wavesMINUS Radicalism in big waves
