Never change a winning team - thanks to the two-year cycle, the Goya Custom Quad is entering the new 2026 season unchanged. How does it compare with the newcomers?

The straps of the Goya Custom Quad are soft and double-bolted at the back, all fins sit in US boxes and are fixed with an FCS key. Until the 2024 season, the Goya Quad was primarily optimised for control and carving in big waves - the board is now much more balanced. The transition to planing is almost effortless, the water position is - typical of the Quad - quite full and rail-like, which ensures that you arrive at the first jump ramp with an almost resting pulse. This characteristic is particularly appreciated when powered up and in rough conditions, as the board pulls through the chop with excellent control - even on flat water if desired.

Mindlessly into the bottom turn

So far, so familiar - but the Goya Custom Quad of the 2025/26 season can do much more in small waves than its predecessor, because it allows more variable radii overall and also pulls up tightly over the rear foot to the waist-high white water lip. Although there are Flikka, Patrik or Starboard, the Goya Custom Quad has a slightly more light-footed turning, but its potential is still at a very high level.

Fortunately, the board has not lost its strengths when carving. You can still throw yourself mindlessly into the bottom turn and pull full throttle over the rail through the turn up to the lip of the wave - no hopping or blending interferes with the ride, you can concentrate fully on the wave and the next move. During the cutback, the Goya Custom Quad can be carved over the rail in a controlled manner, but with a little pressure you can also let the tail break out and slide in Brawzinho style.

surf verdict of the Goya Custom Quad 88

The Goya Custom Quad is a true all-rounder that feels at home at any spot worldwide. It makes its potential accessible to both pros and less experienced wavers, so the target group is correspondingly large.
