But even now, after our first short test, we can't quite deny that the device has a tangible fun factor. It won't become a real windsurfer, the sail is too unstable, the boom too low and the mast base three sizes too small for that. But the device is definitely suitable for giving it a try, encouraging friends and letting the children play "windsurfing star".
The same applies to the first sailing trip, which should perhaps not be at 25 knots on the North Sea. With just a few simple steps, the surf rig is fitted with a kind of rigging, the delicate-looking tiller is installed and you can learn everything you need for the basic sailing licence. In very light winds, the lightweight rubber boat even slides off quickly and responds well to steering, carrying two adults or a handful of children safely. Even without a rig, it had a higher participation factor on the pond than any normal inflatable boat and was quickly boarded by a huge crowd of children.
It should even be possible to hang it behind the motorboat as a "towable" using the bow loop. We were unable to test this due to the lack of a towing vehicle. To summarise the test, it is a windsurfing or sailing toy that is quick to set up, easy to stow away and is sure to turn one or two people into "real" sports equipment at some point. It is ideal for a varied pastime in the forecastle of a larger sailing or motor yacht. For 949.95 euros, budding multisport enthusiasts can purchase it from

The Aquaglide can be optionally equipped with a centreboard, fin and rudder. In light winds, the lightweight boat starts up quickly and can be sailed properly.
