Starboard SuperCruiser Aluminium is perhaps the most interesting cost-saving measure in the foil segment.
In contrast to the "SuperCruiser Carbon" tested in surf 6-2019, the carbon mast in this case is replaced by an 85-centimetre aluminium mast of the same length. Instead of 1999 euros, this combination now costs just 999 euros. The fuselage (side rails) and both wings remain the same and experience from our surf tests shows that the Starboard aluminium masts are just as stiff as the carbon masts. Only the profile of the aluminium masts is slightly thicker than the carbon versions, which slightly reduces the top speed but hardly changes the riding feeling.
