Power base plate from Surfline Munich
To withstand the highest loads, Klaus Joacham manufactures his new base plate from V4A steel, and even higher quality titanium.
The pin and cup are connected by an elasticated, secured chord. Due to the low overall height, the rig is another two centimetres lower. The highlight is located at the pin, where the tip ends in a 5 mm Allen key, with which the plate is screwed to the board. The titanium mast base weighs just 209 grams and costs 149 euros, while the steel version (270 grams) costs 79 euros. Like the lightweight foot strap set (four pieces, 60 euros), it is available directly from Surfline Munich on 08376/1762, or as a combination set (steel base plate/four lightweight foot straps) for 119 euros.
