Some time ago, developer Finn Noer solved one of the biggest problems for many hobby surfers with his NoerStick by inventing an extension that adjusts its own length when trimming. The problem of the extension either being set too short or protruding too far at the bottom is now history.
The first step is to hook in the luff tensioner and tighten it by hand so that the trim block of the sail ends directly at the bottom of the trim block of the extension. In the second step, the adjustment ring of the extension is pulled up via a pull mechanism until the desired luff tension is achieved.
This is new with the NoerStick
Noer has now developed the system further and we were able to try out the update of the Python RDM extension. The pull mechanism as such has of course long since proved its worth and runs extremely smoothly. What is new is that a modified adjustment ring now also allows the use of a normal 4-millimetre tamp. The previous model required a 3-millimetre rope, which wore out quickly. The clamps have also been redesigned and are now made of stainless steel - components that have proven themselves in the Sdm version. All components are still interchangeable and can be reordered individually if required. The length specifications are printed where the adjustment ring does not touch them.

Manuel Vogel, born in 1981, lives in Kiel and learned to windsurf at the age of six at his father's surf school.
