The angle of attack of the foil wings can be adjusted using shim plates. With the Magic Wedge, there is now a system for the Patrik AEON Foil that allows infinitely variable tuning with little effort.

Dedicated foil racers fine-tune the wings by making small changes to the angle of attack. This is usually done by screwing wafer-thin plates at a very slight angle between the fuselage and the wing. With the Magic Wegde, the Patrik AEON Foil now has a system that makes this adjustment for the backwing much easier. An exciting feature for many top riders, as the AEON Foil has been the absolute benchmark in the World Cup for several years, without which good placings are hardly possible.

The idea for the Magic Wegde came from Franck Gressier, who also developed the Patrik Freefall harness hook. Two parts are screwed between the wing and the fuselage: a static plate and one that can be moved continuously to adjust the wing. There are two variants for different ranges: One 0 to 1.5 degrees, the other 0.8 to 2.3 degrees. Everything works with the original screws of the foil and only requires a small Torx spanner that also fits into the harness - so the setting can be changed directly on the beach in just a few simple steps without having to dismantle the setup. "You can make quick and easy adjustments or try something out to get more speed or stability," says Peter Metz from Peters Windsurfing-Shop, describing the advantages. In addition, only a few parts are needed instead of ten individual plates.

How the Magic Wedge for the Patrik AEON Foil works

In Germany, the system is available exclusively from Peters Windsurfing-Shop in Budenheim. The Magic Wedge costs 25.00 euros with one adjustment plate and 35.00 euros as a set with both options.
