Sensoboards are now widely used, and now there is the new, cheaper "Lite" version. The balance boards can also be extended with integrated motion sensors.

The first Sensoboard came onto the market a good 15 years ago, and now the company run by former regatta surfer Moritz Martin is launching the new Sensoboard Lite, a more affordable and technically upgraded version, while the well-known Pro model is also receiving an update. Both new products are characterised by smart expansion options. The aim of the first major product relaunch in the company's history is to make the system accessible to an even wider range of customers.

The Sensoboard Lite is a slightly smaller and more purist version of the well-known balance board. Weighing just 6 kilograms, it is around 50 per cent lighter than the familiar model and is recognisable by its new design. The highlight of both new models: They can be equipped with a motion sensor from software manufacturer Bobo Balance, which records the training process and transforms the boards into gaming controllers. The movements on the board are recorded via a free app and can be used for interactive games. "Even multiplayer games with up to 4 people are now possible," emphasises Martin in the press release for the market launch.

Digital training companion for at home

In addition to the games, the new app also offers the option of carrying out guided training programmes of 6-12 minutes on the Sensoboard. Any smartphone or tablet can thus become a digital training companion. "We are delighted that Bobo Balance even makes multiplayer gaming possible with our Sensoboards - with a real coordinative and physiological effect. I am pleased that we are continuing to develop our products in a contemporary and demand-orientated way without throwing our principles of value creation and sustainability overboard," explains Moritz Martin.

The new entry-level model is available from just 240 euros, while the Pro model with a larger footprint starts at 420 euros. Both models can be retrofitted with the motion sensor. Sensosports will continue to sell the new models directly, while the existing model range will continue to be available in the "Classics" product category (from €299) via the sales network.

Functional training for the whole body

The principle of training on balance boards has been tried and tested for years: The exercises specifically target the deeper muscles, promote sensorimotor skills and improve intramuscular coordination. "Dynamic training on the Sensoboard engages all the muscles in the body," promises Moritz Martin, Master of Sports Science. "Above all, the interaction between the nervous system and muscles is optimised and reflex mechanisms are trained. Targeted exercises are an excellent way to work on the mobility and stability of the core muscles to relieve the passive musculoskeletal system." The free, three-dimensional training prepares the body for different movement requirements and thus serves to prevent sports and everyday injuries.

By the way: You can try out both the Sensoboard Pro and the new Lite model at our surf stand at boot Düsseldorf until 25 January!
