Since surf published an article about the GoPro action camera in the September 2010 issue, some surf readers might be interested in this.

My mate and I have been thinking about the best way to use our GoPro camera for filming from the mast without damaging the sailcloth. And this is the result: a full carbon fibre mount (only about 280 grams) that is simply clamped to the mast using two Allen screws. A two-millimetre rubber on the inside of the mast recesses prevents damage to the sailcloth. We have named the thing "MastHave". The MastHave can be extended with additional camera positions on both sides of the rig using standard GoPro adhesive mounts (see photos). This is still a prototype that can certainly be improved. However, it already fulfils its purpose perfectly, as you can see in the action photo.
