1200 litres of volume can now be strapped to the roof in the form of the Malibu Wave XL box - enough for two complete sets of surfing equipment.

The new roof box from Mobila in Haltern is designed to meet current needs. 260 centimetres long, one metre wide and 44 centimetres high - all in all, this results in a load volume of 1200 litres and therefore enough storage space for two boards including sails and accessories. If that's not enough, you can optionally transport additional boards on an attachable surfboard holder - or switch to the Malibu Jumbo Box with a width of 120 centimetres, which is also available. The boxes are handmade from glass fibre plastic (GRP), lockable, aerodynamic and protected from splashing water by a rubber seal all the way round.

Two gas pressure dampers keep the lid open when loading, depending on the centre of gravity distribution, even when another 20 kilos have been loaded onto the box. According to the manufacturer, mounting on the roof rack should be very easy, as there are already sealed openings for the mounting kit in the floor area.

The Malibu Wave XL box weighs 29 kilos and costs 1300 euros in regular sales. However, the box can currently be ordered on the Mobila website at a special price of 880 euros. Other colours such as grey, silver and black are also available for a small surcharge.
