Trimming aid: rigged in seconds with Lisa Twist Lock Pulley

Racers like to surf fast, but setting up the sail is sometimes slower than planned. Especially if you use a trimming aid - as is often the case with freerace or racing sails. The Lisa Twist Lock Pulley is designed to make any threading on the trim system superfluous when setting up sails. We have tested whether this works.

Trim systems are particularly common in connection with camber sails, allowing the trim to be adjusted while riding - this is a great advantage, especially for racers and long strokes. The Lisa Twist Lock Pulley consists of two solid pulleys that are simply clicked into the clew eyelet of the sail using a simple mechanism. This means that the rope of the trim sheet only has to be threaded into the pulleys once. Ideally, the pulleys remain on the boom - if you use the boom with another sail, the fully threaded trim aid automatically comes with it.

This worked wonderfully in the practical test: simply push the rollers through the eyelet and fix them in place with a quarter turn - done! The rope runs very smoothly in the large rollers and allows easy re-trimming using the trim aid. Even if you surf with very little tension on the trim sheet, the rope can never fall out of the rollers.

Surf summary of the Lisa Twist Lock Pulley trim aid:

Just under 60 euros is not exactly cheap, but the system works perfectly and its clever mechanism allows trimming in seconds.
