With the models Teamwave, T-Type or Argon, Prolimit has a variety of products that is probably almost unrivalled in the windsurfing sector. The Vault model has been added to the range for some time now. In direct comparison with the alternative models Teamwave and Type-T, it is immediately noticeable that the Vault is somewhat smaller in size, i.e. it encloses a smaller back area overall. Logically, this means that the forces are not distributed quite as evenly. On the other hand, the cover of the Vault distributes the pressure very evenly and there are no annoying pressure points. In general, the padding on the inside is ultra-comfortable. This model also has a slightly slimmer cut at the edges towards the hips, offering plenty of lateral freedom of movement.
The harness is secured to the body with a neoprene strap, which is slightly smaller than you would expect from the nominal size. The quick-release fastener is as tried and tested as it is functional; it can be clicked in and opened again effortlessly. The only thing that could be criticised is that the hook does not sit on a plate but rests directly on the neoprene strap. However, with the Alpha Bar Here you have the option to upgrade.
The ProLimit Vault scores as an extremely comfortable harness with maximum freedom of movement, which should appeal to wave and freestyle fans in particular. If you have a somewhat sensitive back, are looking for maximum back support or enjoy long sessions on powerful freeride and camber sails, you should look for a model with more back support - the Type-T model or the Argon hard shell model are better.
