On land: The roller block on the luff is turned 90 degrees and is well covered by the long, thick protector. Thick X-Ply is used in the lower sail segment and even the sparingly used monofilm still looks solid. The boom cut-out is so wide that the boom can be easily fitted even when the sail is trimmed. Fred" is printed in the sail for correct luff trim. Only the lowest batten shows a profile on land, above it the sail flattens out.
On the water:A good profile, plenty of tension on the cloth and in the battens, which gives hope for good performance and a large wind range right from the start. And the Torro doesn't disappoint. The rather bulbous - but not at all spongy - sail loads up well early on and accelerates powerfully. It feels neutral in the hand, with a stiff batten corset and a lot of looseness, it doesn't fidget even in gusts. Overall, it is similar to the Sailloft Quad+, although it doesn't quite achieve its lightness, but in return it is even more convincing in strong winds. It immediately flattens out sufficiently in any trim when it is unfurled and can also be positioned well in the wind or submerged. However, it also lacks a little of the airiness that is the icing on the cake for the lightest manoeuvring sails. Nevertheless, it impresses with good performance, a very freeride, curled and stable ride on the straights and neutral handling. Once again, the bonus is that you really only need one trim, which largely always works.
