With the X_Pace, Duotone is adding a new no-cam freerace sail to its range. It is designed to combine easy handling with high performance. You can read the first test here soon!

"The X_Pace project was born out of a personal need of some of the over 50s in our department," says Duotone at the start of the presentation of the new model. "Cam used to inspire sail racers, but age is taking its toll. Launching a Cam sail filled with water has simply become a dealbreaker." The result is a freerace sail without camber, but with comparable performance. It replaces the E_Pace in the Duotone range

According to Duotone, a key factor here is the pre-shaped profile, which is intended to be close to a camber sail. Both RDM and SDM masts are possible. "The X_Pace generates power, acceleration, speed and a locked-in feeling that rivals any camber sail. The forward pull pulls you into a determined stance and lets your board fly on the fin," is the manufacturer's promise. The narrow mast sleeve should then ensure the desired easy handling and allow rigging "as fast as a wave sail".

The Duotone X_Pace comes in six sizes from 5.4 to 7.8 square metres, all with seven bats and a fixed top. Further information at duotonesports.com
