The Severne Moto convinces as a well-balanced freerace sail. Performance, control, handling - everything is perfectly balanced.

The Severne Moto presents itself as a particularly versatile freerace sail with a very large wind range. When rigging, you immediately notice the trim system with four rollers, which safes your energy for surfing - the last section can no longer be trimmed by hand, as with all other sails, but the force remains within reasonable limits. The cambers also folds smoothly around the mast when rigging.

The sail has a harmonious profile with plenty of loose leech in the upper area. The workmanship makes a high-quality impression, with reinforcements all round including a rubber strip on the cross batten. Overall, the Moto gives the impression of a freerace sail that promises both performance and handling, even on land.

On the water, it needs a few metres more run-up than the most powerful "V8 dragsters" to develop its full power - similar to a turbo that first needs to be charged. However, once the planing threshold has been overcome, the sail accelerates continuously and quickly reaches a very good top speed. The centre of effort is always comfortably between the hands, which enables good control at all times and, above all, saves energy. In gusts, the Moto remains stable and does not twitch, but effectively converts the additional wind power into propulsion.

Impressive driving stability

The stability over a very wide wind range is impressive. The sail requires only slightly active guidance from the rider, but rewards this with an almost playful and comfortable, slightly damped feel on the boom. In strong winds, it produces less lift than comparable sails, which keeps the board calm and makes it easier to control - the Moto could therefore become a potential favourite for long reaches in strong winds.

In manoeuvres, it impresses with its low (swing) weight and easy rotation, with the cambers also changing sides smoothly and without any noticeable jerk. The Severne Moto impresses as a balanced freerace sail that offers both very good performance and control and is suitable for a wide range of wind conditions.
