On land: The Point-7 still looks very solidly dimensioned, but no longer quite as bulky as some representatives in past tests. The lower leech is free of vulnerable seams, the protector is reinforced with Kevlar - nothing should happen. The film tends to be thicker at the top and bottom and thinner in the centre section - see the flutter problem below. The profile is already quite flat on land, with little shape in the battens.
On the water: The Point-7 changes its character abruptly from bobbing to gliding. At first it seems a little heavier and more sedate, but once hooked into the harness, you can forget about it. Compact and very easy to control - these are the attributes that describe the AC-X. It is very stable over the board, the pressure point feels low, the boom can be mounted a little lower and in a slightly crouched position you can wedge yourself between the board and sail. In gusts, it requires a more powerful sailing hand, which can largely be remedied by re-trimming. The only major point of criticism in the test was the leech fluttering strongly in the area of the logo, where the sail and mast did not seem to be optimally matched. There was also nothing wrong with the manoeuvring potential. Unlike a NeilPryde Hellcat, it doesn't seem quite as light, but in compensation it is more compact and easier to handle, and the fairly flat profile doesn't cause any problems in manoeuvres either.
