Despite this, the profile pulls a deep belly with the first tight pull, allowing you to quickly reach the required top speed even without pumping. When powered up, the Idol holds the centre of pressure exceptionally well, even in strong gusts there are no disturbing load changes, which means you can always sail relaxed. The light sail feeling is thus maintained over a wide wind range - a characteristic that not only plays into the hands of ambitious trick riders.
In manoeuvres and rotations, you benefit from the short boom and concave-cut foot, which allows the sail to rotate nimbly - regardless of whether you are double-spocking or simply jibing at the end of a jibe. The sail also shows no weakness when ducking: The profile flattens out at the push of a button, but due to the shorter boom dimensions and the agility mentioned above, the Duotone sail needs to be guided a little more precisely.
The Duotone Idol convinces as a sail without weaknesses and combines planing power, great handling and a large wind range. It scores points with freestyle pros as well as for normal manoeuvres on flat water.
