On land: Atlas, Combat, The Fly - NeilPryde offers the full range of three wave sails. The Atlas already looks bulbous on land, a slightly straighter mast curve should improve the rotation of the Atlas. The sail is tuned more via the clew than the luff for high winds.
On the water: With the Atlas, the NeilPryde design team has apparently once again set itself the ambitious goal of delivering a steam hammer among power sails. And they have definitely succeeded. With plenty of shape and a good pull on the back hand, the Powerhouse Atlas lifts even the heaviest waver into planing with ease. Even if it is not one of the featherweights in the group average, it does not seem excessively heavy for such a powerful motor, power and pressure point position rather reduce the agility of the sail, which also seems quite large. Above all, it impresses with excellent riding stability and almost freeride power. Good for giving heavy riders something up to the lip in the turn in onshore winds. The sail is less supportive of playful style. Heavy surfers in particular are happy about the extra horsepower in onshore conditions and it also cuts a fine figure as a freemoving motor on inland waterways. Dedicated, lighter surfers will prefer to read on for the Combat.
