Surf recommendation: Thanks to its balanced wave characteristics, good planing performance and top control, the North is a successful all-rounder for all areas and rider types. Even those looking for an uncomplicated, handy sail for use in strong winds and flat water can choose the Ice without hesitation.

On land: The numerous printed trim aids are extremely useful for finding the correct trim. Similar to Gun Sails and Gaastra, North also uses comparatively thick monofilm, which benefits durability.

On the water: The great strength of the North Ice is that it has no weaknesses. In normal trim, the sail planes well and remains easy to control even in strong gusts; you only have to trim it relatively late. When flat-pulled, the pressure point of the rather direct sail remains nailed down where it belongs - a plus point both in gusty wave areas and in strong winds on flat water. Even if the North is not quite as light and agile as some other sails in the group, it still impresses on the waves with a successful mix of neutrality ("off") and propulsion ("drive"), which in principle any type of rider can cope with at any spot from Klitmøller to Cape Town.
