In addition to the familiar models Free, HP and MP Manufacturer GA has produced the model Move launched on the market. It is a full-carbon foil with a higher aspect ratio of 9.2, which is designed to offer a wide range of applications.
The Move model is available in sizes of 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1150 and 1300 cm². We were able to test the 800, 1000 and 1300 sizes extensively. In addition, three different stabilisers (160/180/210 cm²) and three fuselage lengths (60/66/72 cm) are available. The most significant innovation is that the front wing and the front section of the fuselage are made from a single piece. This ensures a secure connection between the front wing and the fuselage and prevents screws from becoming permanently corroded. For everyday use, the front and rear sections of the fuselage can be permanently joined using two screws. The stabilisers are supplied with a range of shims, allowing the angle to be adjusted as required to achieve either more lift or a higher top speed. Overall, the Move Foil features a medium airfoil thickness. The wingtips are gently swept upwards. The foil impresses with its high precision of fit across all components.
The UHM full-carbon mast is recommended for the GA Move Foil; it is slim, stiff and provides a very direct connection to the fuselage. The plate for mounting on the board is quite short, allowing you to make full use of the box’s length. Furthermore, the screw holes are slotted, which makes fitting the foil easier. Priced between 1,800 and 1,900 euros, the full-carbon set is certainly attractively priced. Anyone who already owns a GA aluminium foil can also use the aluminium mast with an adapter. The matching adapter is expected to cost around 100 euros and be available during the summer of 2026.
The GA Move Foil impresses when getting going with a very reliable lift that builds up even at comparatively low speeds. When pumping up, the flow stabilises quickly, preventing the wing from accidentally sagging again. Once airborne, the foil offers a good balance of agility around all axes and solid control. Even in strong gusts, the foil does not tend to push up towards the surface, whilst the speed is good but not exceptional. The Move Foil really shines when it comes to manoeuvres: you can string together smooth turns, making it ideal for seamlessly combining standard manoeuvres such as tacks and jibes, as well as tight foil 360s.
The foil’s excellent manoeuvrability also makes it suitable for use in swell, where it allows you to carve smooth lines. To complement this, the foil model also offers plenty of glide. Even from small, low-pressure waves, the foil draws enough energy for relaxed and long rides. In the 800 size, the glide is naturally somewhat limited; here, the focus is more on variable turning radii. However, the 1000 and 1300 sizes are also wonderfully suitable for heavier riders, even in small swell. As the foil achieves a good level of speed compared to models of the same size from other brands, jumps and first freestyle tricks are also easily possible. It is only after landings that the foil needs a brief moment to regain a stable airflow.
For complete beginners to wingfoiling, GA offers other models that are even easier to ride. However, if you’re already confident and have largely mastered basic manoeuvres such as tacking and jibing without any problems, you can switch straight to the sporty Move Foil. This model really stands out for its versatility and wide range of uses. Whether as a freeride foil for relaxed cruising, for fluid manoeuvres, first jumps or long rides in swell, the Move Foil covers all these scenarios and will therefore appeal to a wide audience.
