The Swiss manufacturer Ensis is expanding its foil portfolio with the new Maniac series. With a monobloc design, the wings are set to set new standards in terms of hydrodynamics and performance.

Ensis launches the new Maniac Foil series on the market. This includes three different models: The Maniac Stride was designed for light winds and for downwinding, the Maniac Infinity on the other hand, is the declared all-round model for freestyling, sporty freeriding and wave riding. The third model in the group is the Maniac Pacerfor freeriders and wingfoil beginners.

The centrepiece of the new Maniac Foils is the monobloc design, in which the front wing and fuselage merge seamlessly into a single carbon part. This design is not only intended to optimise the flow properties, but also to increase stiffness while reducing weight at the same time. The result should be an extremely direct and precise ride. All screws are made of high-quality, seawater-resistant stainless steel and have a black coating for improved corrosion resistance. The entire foils can be mounted with just one Torx 30 tool, which is included in the scope of delivery.

Ensis Maniac Infinity ACE - all-rounder for demanding foilers

The Ensis Maniac Infinity ACE is available in five different sizes from 690 cm² to 1390 cm². Ensis thus covers a wide range of applications and rider weights. The smallest model with 690 cm² is intended for light users weighing less than 60 kilos or experts weighing up to 75 kilos who are looking for maximum speed and agility. At the other end of the spectrum is the 1390 cm² foil, which offers sufficient lift even in light winds or for heavier riders.

All variants are characterised by a high aspect ratio of 7.5. "This value stands for a narrow, stretched wing profile that enables a high top speed with good manoeuvrability at the same time"Ensis promises. The manufacturer also promises a smooth, intuitive take-off and stable gliding behaviour - important characteristics for controlled carving and precise manoeuvres. The Maniac Infinity ACE was primarily designed for wingfoiling, but also wants to show its strengths in other disciplines, such as parawing foiling. The foil should also offer ideal characteristics for downwind sessions, where long distances are travelled with a tailwind, as well as for freestyling.

Maniac Stride - Foil model with maximum glide

If you want to get maximum glide out of small swells on lakes or the sea when downwinding, the new model Maniac Stride be served just right. The foil is available in two sizes - with a surface area of 1360 or 1740 cm². Both sizes are designed to take off extremely efficiently and harmoniously and convert the energy of small waves into endless flights.

Maniac Pacer ACE - Foil for beginners and freeriders

The third model in the group goes by the name of Pacer and is aimed at all newcomers and freeriders who are looking for an easy-to-ride foil: "The Maniac Pacer offers early and effortless lift, stable and smooth glide, an impressive top speed and shines when flying through wind holes"describes the concept. "It's easy to pump and the very low stall speed gives you more time for manoeuvres - ideal for learning quickly and having fun. With its playful outline, it offers both lightness and control. This mid-to-low aspect foil is perfect for freeriding, first jumps and catching your first waves. Ideal for relaxed riding and fast progress"says Ensis. The Pacer is available in five sizes from 950 to 2200 cm² and is combined with an aluminium fuselage and aluminium mast.

We will soon be presenting the new Ensis Maniac Foils in test reports here on the website.
