Fastening the foil to the board is usually the most time-consuming and tedious part of the preparation. In addition, small deviations in the position of the foil can have a noticeable effect on the riding characteristics. The manufacturer Sabfoil now wants to eliminate these problems with a modular mounting system.
With the Kraken Modular System, the mounting plate of the foil remains permanently attached to the board. The foil mast itself is only attached and fixed with a single horizontal screw.
This should not only shorten the assembly time, but also ensure that the foil always sits on exactly the same foil in the box. It should also make it possible to quickly switch a foil from one board to another, which could be interesting for anyone who likes to switch foil disciplines and, for example, wants to switch between wingboard and windsurfing board.
The system was tested by Sabfoil team rider Balz Müller, who briefly introduces the concept in this short clip.
