After a crash, it is not uncommon for the wing to lie upside down in the water. Turning it back into the right position for take-off is sometimes difficult - especially with wings with a large span and if you are travelling on small boards on which you cannot sit or kneel comfortably. There are also wings that are a little "stubborn" when turning round due to their shape. The trick when turning is to use the wind skilfully so that it can do the main work. In concrete terms, this means that you should turn the wing slightly into the wind with one wing tip before turning it round. If this is then lifted, the wind will reach under the wing and cause it to turn. For wings with a large wingspan, it also helps to turn the wing halfway between the centre loop and the wingtip rather than in the middle at the centre loop.
