The German Wing Foil Club e.V. is organising the SEND IT Wingfoil Clash at Ahoi Camp in Altenteil on Fehmarn from 25 to 27 September 2026. The event combines freestyle routines, boardercross, youth development and an athlete camp atmosphere at the 300° spot. According to the organisers, over two-thirds of the 50 available places have already been filled. Riders from Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden have registered. According to the organisers, with over 35 entries, the Clash is already Germany’s largest wingfoil event of 2026 in terms of participant numbers. Participation is free of charge. Registered riders will be allocated reserved camping pitches at a special rate of 50 euros for the weekend.
Standings and field of competitors
There will be six categories: U12, U14, U16, U19, Women and Men. Six female participants have already registered. The organisers hope that more female riders will sign up and that the women’s and junior categories will continue to grow. The focus is on young talent, ambitious female and male freestylers, as well as adult riders who want to get a taste of competition, test their skills against others or experience a thrilling wingfoil weekend. The Clash is designed as a youth development and community event, but is expressly open to all age groups and ability levels. Young riders are to be given a platform to gain competition experience and develop their sporting skills. Well-known water sports brands and partners from the scene will be watching the event to scout and support up-and-coming talent, and possibly discover new team riders.
Freestyle format with an overall score
According to the organisers, the freestyle freestyle routine is the central format of the SEND IT Wingfoil Clash. Each rider gets their own run on the water. Depending on the wind and conditions, a run lasts around two to six minutes. Unlike in traditional heat formats, the aim is not to pick out just the best trick from a series of attempts. The run is judged as a whole. The aim is to incorporate three strong, well-executed tricks into a run that is as well-rounded as possible. It’s not just difficulty and height that count, but also technique, control, landing, style, flow, variety, risk, progression and overall impression. This means that riders who may not yet have the most difficult tricks in their repertoire can still score points if they deliver a clean, fluid and varied routine. A five-member judging panel assesses the runs fairly, based on sound sporting principles and with an eye on the overall performance on the water – that is the promise.
In addition to the freestyle freestyle event, a boardercross format is planned. A maximum of five riders will start at a time, each within their own age group or competition class. The riders will complete a tight, tactical course marked by buoys, where not only speed counts, but also line choice, control, situational awareness and manoeuvrability. An obstacle element is also planned. No one will be forced to jump: riders can decide whether to take the direct route over the obstacle or the longer, safer route around the outside. This creates a tactical element offering a choice. A pumping section is also planned. This combines boardercross racing, board handling, tactics, courage and athleticism. Whether and to what extent this format is run depends on the wind, the conditions and the time available.
Prices and supporting programme
According to the organiser, participants can look forward to sustainably handcrafted trophies, medals, prize money, non-cash prizes, welcome bags upon registration, plenty of surprise prizes and a handful of additional special prizes, which are yet to be revealed. A riders’ dinner is planned for Saturday, to which participants are invited. On Friday afternoon, a professional riders’ photo shoot will take place on the water. Photographers Daniel Pankoke and Enno Oldigs will be covering the event. Various partners and brands from the watersports scene are also expected to be on site with equipment for testing. Even if the wind should die down, the weekend is set to remain action-packed. The programme will include e-foil test sessions, tow-in sessions, a pumpfoil or pump contest, equipment tests, as well as technical discussions, networking and community time at the spot.
