The SUP & Wing Box is taking over the Lakebase station in Rindbach on Lake Traunsee and kicking off the 2026 season with a three-day festival. From 1 to 3 May, the location will be transformed into a meeting point for water sports enthusiasts and interested parties. The programme includes free testing opportunities for various sports, workshops on windsurfing, pump foiling and foiling behind a boat as well as an expo area with the latest equipment. The organiser will be giving away a NeilPryde Wing as the main prize in the raffle. The event is aimed at active water sports enthusiasts, beginners and locals who want to experience Lake Traunsee from a new perspective. In addition to classic disciplines such as stand-up paddling and windsurfing, trend sports such as wingfoiling and pump foiling take centre stage. Visitors can try out the latest equipment directly on the lake and find out about the various water sports.
Rainer Schmid, owner of SUP & Wing Box, explains the focus: "We want to create a place where water sports are easily accessible - with a good atmosphere, personal support and lots of fun to try out." The concept is based on low entry barriers and direct experience on the water. Lakebase offers the infrastructure for various water sports and provides direct access to Lake Traunsee.
After the opening event, the Lakebase will start regular operations in May 2026. Courses and camps can already be booked online. The offer is aimed at beginners and advanced students in various water sports disciplines. The location in Rindbach offers direct access to Lake Traunsee and the necessary infrastructure for courses and free training. Further information on regular operations, courses and booking options can be found at www.lakebase.at.
