Hamburg is once again getting a Surf Film Festival - and is now inviting submissions of films and projects to be shown at the event.

At the end of April, it's off to Hamburg to film the Surf Film Festival Hamburg! For two days, everything will revolve around surf films and the people who bring the fascination of surfing to the big screen. In addition to a hand-picked film programme, visitors can expect a small but exquisite supporting programme - perfect for exchanging ideas, discovering new projects and celebrating surf culture together. The final dates for the festival days will be announced soon.

The Surf Film Festival Hamburg aims to fill a gap and offer a permanent platform for surf films. And surfing here means more than just surfing: Films about windsurfing, kitesurfing, foiling, rapid surfing and other surfing disciplines are also expressly welcome. In short: if it has anything to do with surfing, it belongs at this festival!

According to the organisers, the Surf Film Festival Hamburg should, "A place where filmmakers, athletes and the community come together - completely relaxed and without any big frills. The programme will be complemented by talks, workshops and cold drinks and should leave room for mutual exchange!" Both short and feature-length films can be submitted. You can find an overview of the criteria via the website! At the end of the festival, the best films in selected categories will be chosen. The deadline for submitting films is 1 March. Submission is of course also open to international projects.

All information on the submission and updates are available on the website and on Instagram at @surffimfestivalhamburg.
