The Freestyle Pro Tour publishes the full programme for 2026 with competitions in Europe and Asia. The calendar combines established locations with three premieres in Austria, Turkey and Italy. The season kicked off on 23 January with the boot Düsseldorf Tow-In Invitational and ends in Genoa in mid-October. "We are very excited to present our provisional Freestyle Pro Tour calendar for 2026. The upcoming season brings the return of some classic tour locations along with new destinations and growing partnerships with national federations," explains Adam Sims, FPT Owner and CEO. The tour awards points for the overall Freestyle Pro Tour title as well as the FPT/IFCA European Title.
Porto Pollo in Sardinia returns to the calendar from 28 to 31 May. The 5-star event includes Fin Freestyle and FoilStyle competitions for men, youth and juniors. The June winds will provide constant conditions for some great freestyle action. The strong local scene meets international athletes, which promises intense duels.
From 3 to 7 June, Lake Neusiedl in Podersdorf will host an FPT event for the first time in years. The five-stage Windy Days Podersdorf event brings world-class freestyle back to the place where the tour has its roots. The flat water and reliable winds have characterised generations of freestylers. Men's and women's divisions are confirmed, youth and juniors are still on the agenda with reservations.
Turkey will make its debut on the FPT calendar from 27 to 30 August. The 6-star event in the north-west of the country offers super flat water in offshore conditions. The Meltemi winds, which also make Greece a freestyle paradise, blow with constant force here too. Men and women will compete for points in clean conditions that allow for technical combo manoeuvres and powerful power moves in equal measure. The new location extends the geographical reach of the tour and opens up a region with reliable wind conditions.
Naxos in Greece hosts a 7-star event from 2 to 6 September After two successful seasons, the tour returns to the Greek island for the third time. Flisvos Watersports is hosting the event in the famous freestyle lagoon. The conditions allow for technical freestyle and high jumps. Local hero Lennart Neubauer defended his European Champion title here. Men, women, youth and juniors compete in the fin freestyle discipline.
Lake Geneva welcomes the Freestyle Pro Tour from 18 to 20 September. The GVA Wind Festival in the Tropical Corner is hosting the Tow-In World Series Finals and the biggest foil style competition of the season for the fourth time. The combination of massive rotations behind the boat and stylish foil manoeuvres makes the event a crowd-puller. Men, women, youth and juniors compete in both disciplines. The Swiss event has established itself as a fixed highlight in the tour calendar.
Genoa on the Ligurian coast will debut with a 6-star men's event from 14 to 18 October. The offshore winds and choppy conditions place high demands on the athletes. As the final European event before the season finale, the Italian spot takes on special significance in the title race. The challenging water conditions separate technically skilled riders from the competition. The new location adds a challenging spot with powerful wind conditions to the Tour's portfolio.
National windsurfing associations organise additional events worldwide under FPT endorsement. The Japan Windsurfing Association organises four events, including the JWA/FPT TSUKASA Hamanako Freestyle Championships in March and December as a 4-star event. The Freestyle Festa Zushi will take place on 18 and 19 April, the Trick'n Try Motosuko on 23 and 24 May. Denmark will host two FPT/Danish Open events on 23-25 May and 22-25 October. The Netherlands will host the FPT/DAM-X Brouwersdam from 9 to 11 October. Japan closes the global season with the All Japan Freestyle Tournament Tsukuihama in November. These events award important ranking points and enable athletes worldwide to enter the international competition scene.
All events count towards the overall Freestyle Pro Tour title. European events also count towards the FPT/IFCA European Championship classification. Two Proving Grounds Series events with five stars or less and all other competitions count towards the titles. "Our focus remains firmly on the competitors, the athletes who continue to take freestyle windsurfing to new levels. We look forward to giving them the stages they deserve and supporting their development as the sport evolves," says Adam Sims. The tour is actively looking for more freestyle events and offers support for new organisers.
