The hard way feeds the squirrel - the second day of the GWA Tarifa Wing Pro continued at a snail's pace towards the title decision. With the wind remaining very light, the first attempt was made to win the title in the discipline of"Surf Race" the first results. However, difficult wind conditions meant that the course had to be repeatedly cancelled and adjusted - an unnerving procedure with regular waiting times for the riders. After a few attempts to start, the race organisers decided to change the discipline without being able to achieve a result.
The day before, in the discipline"Surf Freestyle" the first two laps of the discipline ( HERE go to the report from day 1), but without any of the title favourites stumbling. In round three, the conditions of the previous day were maintained: The riders had nine minutes to conjure up a total of 12 moves on the water, with only the three best tricks counting towards the score. This format always gives riders the chance to take full risks, as there are still plenty of opportunities to score high if they fail. The Italian Francesco Cappuzzo managed this best on the second day of the GWA Tarifa Wing Pro, leaving his opponent no chance with solid jumps, including the best frontside 360 of the entire event.
Another impressive surfer was 14-year-old Lucas Roguet, who also showed an impressive repertoire of moves and secured his place in the next round.
Maxime Chabloz also proved once again what can be achieved in light winds, securing the highest individual score of the day (8.27 points) with a flawless backflip and also victory over his rival Noa Legier in the final standings.
Unfortunately, the wind also took its leave on the second day without the title being decided. So we continue to take small steps towards a hopefully exciting final.
