Eleven World Cup events on five continents - the GWA's provisional tour calendar for the 2025 season is absolutely impressive. This includes three events for the wave specialists: Ponta Preta in Cape Verde in February, followed by Dakhla in Morocco and Ibiraquera in Brazil at the end of the season. However, the year will start with a bang with a new discipline, an indoor World Cup, which will introduce wingfoiling to a new audience at the world's largest boat and water sports fair in mid-January. From 17-19 January, an indoor wingfoil competition will be held for the first time at boot Düsseldorf with the world's best athletes by invitation. The innovative competition will be held as an individual time trial in slalom format, with the wingfoilers being propelled by giant fans in the 60 x 20 metre XXL pool.
The FreeFly slalom discipline will be held at six locations in 2025, including four new destinations. The season will open in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in April, before the World Cup team moves on to Abu Dhabi a few days later. This will be followed by competitions in Cancun (Mexico) and Dakhla (Morocco), as well as Leucate (France) and Sotavento (Fuerteventura/Spain). However, the Big Air discipline, which was held in Gran Canaria in 2024, will not be continued.
During the season, you will of course find up-to-date reports and videos of the events here on the website.
