Neuseenland Leipzig: Wingfoil regatta and Duotone Testival on Lake Cospuden

On 9 and 10 May 2026, the "1st Cossi Cup" in wingfoiling will take place at Lake Cospuden near Leipzig, which, like the Winger of the Sea, is aimed at beginners, advanced and experienced riders. Surfcenter Leipzig is organising the event in collaboration with Duotone and is focusing on a low-threshold concept with short, clear courses. Depending on the number of participants, the event combines several heats with a fun regatta in a one-hour format.
Parallel to the races, participants and visitors can test the latest wing, foil and pump material from Duotone on Saturday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and on Sunday from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. Participation in the Testival is included in the entry fee, but the Testival rental equipment is excluded from the races.
Participation requirements and categories
The regatta is open to all ability levels and is divided into the adult and U19 categories. Participants must be able to wingfoil safely, maintain height and master controlled manoeuvres. Good swimming ability in open water is a prerequisite and liability insurance is recommended. Participation is at your own risk. Regatta experience is not required. There are no restrictions on the choice of equipment - participants can use their own equipment or hire equipment from the Leipzig Surf Centre. The number of participants is limited and registration takes place via the 1001 Grad Events ticket system. After registering, participants will receive all further information by email.
Procedure and schedule
Saturday begins with registration and the equipment check between 9.45 and 10.30 am. The riders' meeting will take place at 11.00 a.m. before the races are held from 12.00 to 5.00 p.m. in various formats. The exact schedule depends on the wind and weather, breaks are planned. At 5.30 p.m. there will be a raffle, with each participant receiving a prize, and the award ceremony. From 6.30 pm, the event invites you to a barbecue. Sunday serves as a reserve day for races that could not take place the day before due to weather conditions. The riders meeting is scheduled for 10.00 am, the races will run from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. If the prize-giving ceremony could not take place on Saturday, it will follow on Sunday at 4.00 pm. On this day, the focus will be on the Duotone Testival, water sports and socialising on land.
