If you want to be part of the Starboard Wingfoil team, you can apply via Instagram and qualify for the live final
Starboard is awarding a sponsorship contract worth over 6,000 euros. From 1 May to 15 June, all wingfoilers can apply for the Wing Challenge via Instagram. The jury with Elias Ouahmid and Xavi Corr will select the finalists for the live contest in the summer.

Starboard is opening its doors to all German wingfoilers and launching the Wing Challenge, an open campaign to find a new team rider. The application phase runs from 1 May to 15 June 2026. Interested parties upload a post or reel to Instagram, tag it with the hashtag #StarboardWingChallenge and link the account @starboard_germany. The winner will receive a full sponsorship contract and equipment worth over 6,000 euros, consisting of a wing, foil board and foil. All wingers can take part, regardless of their level: "We're not necessarily looking for the most technically perfect rider. What convinces us is the overall package: your riding style, your personality, your adventure mentality, past or planned projects, your energy on the water - everything counts. We are just as interested in who you are as what you do on the board," emphasises Starboard.

The application video does not necessarily have to show wingfoil scenes, but should only serve to draw attention to you. After the upload, the official Starboard account will contact the participants with further information about the process. The applicants will then submit the final image and video material with which they will actually take part in the challenge. After reviewing the submissions, a jury of real wingfoil pros will select the candidates for the semi-finals. The judges include Elias Ouahmid and Xavi Corr as well as other personalities from the Starboard cosmos at the international headquarters. The names of the additional jury members are yet to be announced. These experts will determine which finalists make it through to Finals Day.

Live decision in midsummer

The final will take place as a live competition on site in July or August, depending on the wind conditions. On this day, the final decision will be made as to who gets a place on the Starboard team. Starboard emphasises that it's about more than free equipment: "It means becoming part of a global community of windsurfers, wingfoilers and paddlers who have been shaping wind water sports for over 30 years!"
