In 2021, the Foil Festival celebrated a successful premiere on Schönberg beach. From 16 to 19 June 2022, a new edition will be held - with many interesting programme items.

The first Foil Festival took place on the pier in Schönberger Strand at the end of July 2021. The new edition will take place at the same location this year from 16-19 June. As in the previous year, the festival will be a mixture of contest (Open German Championships) and test event for everyone. Almost all the well-known brands from the wind sports industry are expected to attend and will have the latest equipment available for testing. Of course, there will also be a supporting programme with parties this year.

Many well-known and small brands have found their way to Schönberg

The wind forecast looks particularly promising for the coming weekend - while the rest of the country is sweltering in the heat, there should be sunshine and winds of 17 to 23 knots at Schönberg beach - that means ideal test and contest conditions.

Manuel Vogel, born in 1981, lives in Kiel and learned to windsurf at the age of six at his father's surf school. In 1997, he completed his training as a windsurfing instructor and worked for over 15 years as a windsurfing instructor in various centers, at Kiel University sports and in the coaching team of the “Young Guns” freestyle camps. He has been part of the surf test team since 2003. After completing his teaching degree in 2013, he followed his heart and started as editor of surf magazine for the test and riding technique sections. Since 2021, he has also been active in wingfoiling - mainly at his home spots on the Baltic Sea or in the waves of Denmark.
