The Stickl Sportcamp on Lake Garda opens the 2023 season with a big test event. On 6 and 7 May, you can test the latest Starboard & Freewing equipment, and there are also wingsurfing courses for beginners and advanced surfers.

The "Try & Fly" event heralds the start of the wing course season at the Stickl Sportcamp on Lake Garda. On 6 and 7 May only, the Starboard and Freewing team will be on site with the latest equipment. The experts and the Stickl team will be giving wingsurfing courses for all skill levels.

For less experienced board sports enthusiasts, there are test sessions on surf and SUP boards with the wing. In medium wind speeds and with coaching via radio, the stickl and starboard instructors provide the best introduction to the sport. Experienced windsurfers and kitesurfers can go straight onto the wingfoil boards after a brief preparation. "With the trainer boat, the group is very flexible and always at the best spot depending on the wind situation," say the organisers. Boards and wings can be swapped between the foilers on the water.

Several trainer boats and instructors look after the small groups of wingsurfers and wingfoilers on the water and organise the change of riders so that different equipment can be tested.

The complete package with the latest equipment, intensive coaching and accommodation at the Stickl Beach Hotel Rosa, including meals, costs from 284 euros. The number of participants is limited. Further courses take place throughout the season.

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
