The California Windsurf Cup and the California Wingfoil Masters celebrated a successful premiere as a combined event from 4 to 6 July 2025. In ideal conditions, Vincent Langer came out on top in both windsurfing disciplines to secure overall victory. He was followed by Leo Richter and Paul Regber. Kim Holste won the wingfoil event ahead of Joost Brendel and Mattes Brendel.
There were windsurfing races on the foil on all three days of the event, with Vincent Langer putting in an impressive performance. With three wins in four races and the option of cancelling the worst result, Langer secured victory in this discipline with a perfect score of 0.0. Worldcupper Lars Poggemann followed in second place with 7.0 points. Tjalve Böttger completed the podium. Two young riders, Erik Wehkamp and Paul Regber, made it into the top 5.
Vincent Langer also gave the competition no chance in the Fin Slalom. In gusty winds of between three and seven Beaufort, Langer dominated all four races with clear start-to-finish victories. With an ideal score of 0.0, Langer impressively emphasised his supremacy in this discipline. Leo Richter proved particularly strong in the Fin Slalom and secured second place with three second places and a sixth place to be cancelled with 6.0 points. Fin Slalom expert Oliver Schott completed the podium with 8.0 points.
In the overall ranking of the California Windsurf Cup Pelzerhaken, which is made up of the results of both disciplines, Vincent Langer was unsurprisingly also in the lead. Leo Richter followed in second place with nine points, while Paul Regber was delighted with his biggest success to date in the California Windsurf Cup and third place overall with 11.0 points. The event also provided a platform for young talent. In the LVM Youngster Trophy, which honours all young riders under the age of 21, Paul Regber secured the green jersey and prize money of 250 euros as the best young rider. Mika Henning and Jesse Richter followed in second and third place.
According to the organisers, the combination of the Windsurf Cup and the Wingfoil Masters "worked perfectly". "The wingers and windsurfers were able to alternate ideally on the water," reads a press release. "This meant that no valuable competition time was wasted and the infrastructure could be optimally utilised." In the end, the wingfoilers had ten races under their belts, with Kim Holste winning eight times. Thanks to Streicher, he won the California Wingfoil Masters Pelzerhaken with the ideal score of 0.0 points.
Joost Brendel from Kiel followed in second place with two wins. His brother Mattes Brendel and Dutchman Koen Hessels fought a close duel for third place, with Mattes finishing just one point ahead of him on the podium. Hessels and Felix Neuling completed the top five, while Tania Tammling was the best lady overall ahead of Marisa Roch and Olivia Bischoff.
