New contest, new criteria: at the “Sent it Wingfoil Clash”, the overall impression is set to count for more than individual freestyle moves
The Deutscher Wing Foil Club e.V. is organising the “Send it Wingfoil Clash” in Altenteil on Fehmarn from 25 to 27 September 2026, featuring youth categories from U12 to U19, open classes for women and men, and a new scoring format. There are 30 trophies and prize money up for grabs.

The “Send it Wingfoil Clash” is bringing wingfoil freestyle to Fehmarn at the end of September. As the organiser, the Deutscher Wing Foil Club e.V. is focusing on young talent, but is expressly opening the event up to all age groups. Ahoi Camp Fehmarn is involved as a sponsor, supporter and venue partner. At the campsite, participants can park their campervans close to the action and spend the whole weekend on site. Thanks to its links with the DWFV, DSV and DOSB, the contest benefits from a professional sporting framework. The combination of promoting young talent, a transparent scoring system and the exceptional quality of the spot defines the event’s profile.

Talent scouts are there on the day

The field of competitors is divided into four youth categories: U19, U16, U14 and U12. Alongside these, there are separate classifications for women and men, offering adult riders their own platform. A total of 30 trophies will be awarded. Prize money has been set aside for the competition categories, which, according to the organisers, is intended to visibly reward performance without neglecting the aim of promoting young talent. The Wingfoil Clash aims to motivate young talent and make it easier for new riders to break into the competition scene. In addition to the main categories, there will be further special prizes. According to the organisers, well-known water sports brands are planning to scout for new talent on site and identify potential team riders. This prospect adds an extra dimension to the event for ambitious young athletes.

New rating format for overall impression

The organisers of the Send it Wingfoil Clash have announced that they are introducing a new judging system that moves away from scoring individual tricks in isolation. The focus will be on the overall performance on the water. The judges will therefore be assessing the complete performance and the overall impression of a run. The criteria are style, control, flow, technical difficulty, creativity, consistency and the courage to show what they can do. The focus is not on a single move, but on who delivers the most convincing overall performance on the water, they say. The aim of the change is to make contest runs more dynamic and varied.

In the event of light wind conditions, the organiser has put together an alternative programme. Plans include e-foil taster sessions and pumpfoil activities, and possibly even a pumpfoil contest. A Riders’ Dinner is planned for one evening during the event, to which all participants are invited.
