The third and final tour stop for the wave foilers is currently taking place in Ibiraquera in the south of Brazil and the third day of competition will decide the world titles. The US American Cash Berzolla, who had been in the lead up to that point, had the best chances before the first starting signal. The women's title had already been decided - Elena Moreno travelled to the event with two first places and the certainty that she could no longer be displaced from first place in the annual rankings: "I'm over the moon to have won the world title here in Ibiraquera"said Moreno. "I dedicate this to my brother and my family."
Cash Berzolla had to tremble unexpectedly when he was surprisingly eliminated in the quarter-finals against 16-year-old Axel Gerrard. Nevertheless, it soon became clear that this, combined with his 2nd place in Cape Verde and victory at the event in Dakhla/Morocco, would be enough to win the title: "I feel great"said Berzolla. "I didn't do as well as I would have liked in this competition, but on the whole I couldn't be happier."
Due to an unspecified "medical emergency", the heats were cancelled on day 3 and only continued one day later. The semi-finals and finals are still ongoing, as soon as there are results to report from Ibiraquera, you will be informed here on the website.

Regardless of the final results at the GWA Wingfoil World Cup Ibiraquera, the World Championship titles in the wave discipline have now been decided. For the slalom and freestyle elite, the final event in Jericoacoara/Brazil from 26.-30.11.2024 once again for valuable championship points and a total of 20,000 euros in prize money.
